So here we go, an account of my personal journey to inevitable insanity, as I start a community based website here in Argentina, a sweet and sour stir fry of my experiences with a start up.
So what is this all about..? CatchtheLingo.com, will be a new website for all us beautiful souls who like to learn a language and work, while we travel and it is is currently in development…im afraid yes the corporate spiel will come soon. For now.. lets start off with something a little more personable.
Well first thing first I’m Eamonn… hello..hola.. (one way awkward introduction over). Thanks to youth and stupidity I have decided to start this business. I always wanted to have my own business and even though the sensible thing would have been to stay in banking and actually earn some money I gave into lust for the unknown. Now why I didnt just set up something a little more tangible I dont know…like a decent Indian restaurant in Dublin(a business idea for you!). Anyway im here now in Buenos Aires, buried in it and feeling the wind of reality..
I’m pretty sure the marketing moguls amongst you will have a giggle or two as I carelessly trample over the line of what’s acceptable in your fickle world of business cosmetics. As for my writer\journalism friends well you guys can just leave right now…I’m a numbers person not a writer (Warning Number One)
People have always told me “ Eamonn, you are some man with your words”. This the result of a nasty habit of saying what comes natural to me rather than what really should be said. So there you go, you have been warned.(Warning Number Two)
Also don’t worry I’m going to keep these posts nice and small. There is far too much of nothing on the internet – if I can get 2 minutes of your week Ill be content. Of course this may also be because im a lazy writer, a postcard lover…
Finally feel free to contribute by commenting. Let out whatever it is that needs to be let out.. compliments, advice, information, love and abuse.. all welcome.
So here you go, snack size and straight from the horses mouth.
This blog is a collection of snippets of interest, opinions and useful info on learning Spanish, volunteering and TEFL in South America (just Argentina and Chile for now but soon to include more countries)? click here if you are looking for our main site.
