Eamonn McMahon - Founder
Eamonn founded CatchtheLingo in 2010. After spending the best part of a year travelling and volunteering in Central America he realised that he needed to bring language schools direct to prospective students with a community driven, user friendly platform. Living in London he is kept busy developing the website, working in financial markets and pleasing a feisty Argentinian girlfriend. He endeavours to travel across Europe in 2013 to help grow CatchtheLingo and to add more schools to the website.
Carolin Schoeller - Marketing Director
If there is one phrase that sums up Carolin, then it is the Costa Rican slogan 'Pura Vida'! Carolin has lived in seven countries over the past five years and travelled to many, many more. Languages are a great passion of hers and her mission is to speak at least 10 of them semi-fluently by the time she dies (on number 5 at the moment...). She recently finished her BA in Spanish and German Studies and whilst she is finishing her MSc in Management in Cardiff, Wales, she will be a part of the Catch the Lingo - team to at least be in touch with the travelling scene in spirit.
Stephen Eisenhammer - Writer
Stephen is our philosopher, all-round consultant and community liaison office. However, we only pay him to write our destination guides (which he likes to remind us is more akin to miserable parents' pocket money than pay). Stephen set up his own student newspaper, Vivid, while studying at Cambridge University and has travelled just about everywhere you won't find tour buses. He is currently working for Reuters as a foreign correspondent. You shouldn't be put off by his angry revolutionary appearance as he is actually a nice fella, and a decent man for a debate after a few beers as long as you aren't easily offended.
Amanda Barnes - Writer
Living in Mendoza, Argentina for four years now, Amanda proudly lays her stake in the ground as the most fluent Spanish speaker of the group. Prior to her latin departure, Amanda worked as the editor and chief of a local newspaper back in Hampshire, England. Since arriving in Argentina she has kept herself busy working for a wine store, writing for a travel magazine and is currently developing a wine periodical in the Cuyo region.
